Common Installation Questions

Do I need a structural engineer?

No. Because our beams are hollow and lightweight (approx 1-2 lbs per foot for faux), they install directly to your ceiling joists using simple wood blocking. No heavy lifting required.

Can I use these outdoors?

Yes, but for covered applications only (such as porches or gazebos). We do not recommend installing beams in direct, constant sunlight, as UV exposure may eventually affect the finish over many years.
